Better Water Is Made By Better People

We are so proud of the people who make RAIN possible.  This is a small, growing team of dedicated people who work every day to bring the best spring water in the nation to your refrigerator.  Some of the people with us now have been here since the beginning in 2019, we are so grateful for the people and want to take a moment to share about what they do to make RAIN possible.

At RAIN, we have three primary functions: Sales/Marketing, Operations and Finance.  These three teams make up the core principal business units and all serve very unique, important functions.

As an example, this blog post you are reading was either delivered to you via email, or (if you're a superfan) read on our website.  The blog is written, by a human employee, beautifully incorporated to a styled email and published to our website.  The sales team is also responsible for reaching out to the grocery stores, getting the product onto the shelf- and supporting the sale of RAIN off the shelf with marketing.  You, reader, likely know about RAIN because of the hard work of the sales team.  In addition to those retail sales(at the grocery store) our sales team maintains our ecommerce sales through our own website (responsiblyrain.com) and 3rd party websites like Amazon.com.  P.S. if you made it this far, here is a one time use discount code for 25% off: BETTERWATER

The Operations Team makes the water, though not technically- Mother Earth is responsible for that.  The Operations Team includes the plant bottling staff, the quality team, bottling facility management and shipping.  This team works 7 days a week to keep the plant operating, and keep fresh spring water flowing out the door and onto trucks.  As one example, the quality team within Operations is testing our spring water, every single hour to ensure its quality and safety.  We test countless factors including bacteriological, taste, temperature, pH, mineral content, etc.  Plus some of those less direct food-safety metrics like removal torque(how much force does it take to remove the cap).  There are obvious roles in operations as well, like forklift operators and shipping clerks- not any less important however- without operations the sales team would have no product to sell and ship!

Lastly, Finance.  Simple math would say that if you sell something for less than the cost to produce it- you're making money.  Unfortunately it's far less simple than that.  As a company we sell in all 50 states and internationally.  Each of those states has its own tax implications, sometimes individual counties within those states have additional tax implications!  Payroll taxes, employment taxes, federal and state taxes all need to be managed and accounted for.  These items and many more fall to the finance team.  At RAIN we try hard to make our spring water increasingly available to all consumers, in all economic classes.  This means negotiations with vendors, pricing conversations with retailers, discounts and promotions on store shelves, etc.

RAIN is a growing team of mighty employees- and customers like yourself who have supported our goal of curbing plastic use.  Thank you for the continued support and #notplastic
